Dr. Li received his medical degree from Peking University Health Science Center in Beijing, China, and subsequently completed his residency in Orthopedic spine surgery at the same institute. After moving to the United States he gained his Ph.D. in Cell Biology at Brigham Young University. He also taught Cell Biology lab and Human Anatomy lab at BYU before he resumed medical practice. He was then retrained at the Surgical residency program at the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, New York for one year, and then completed PM&R residency at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York in 2008.

After his residency, Dr. Li spent another year to fulfill a fellowship training in Interventional Pain Management, and gained tremendous skills in minimal invasive spinal procedures, such as fluoroscopy guided spinal injection of different types, spinal radiofrequency and spinal cord stimulator, etc. He is now committed to helping his patients who suffer from chronic pain issues, especially those sourced from spine or limbs. He continually tries to find and understand the causes of their pain, and he uses the least painful approaches to treat the sources of each patient’s pain, helping them regain their confidence to cope with their chronic pain from different angles including minimal invasive spine procedures, injections, adequate exercises, proper posture, physical therapy, psychotherapy, and medications.

Dr. Li holds membership in the International Spine Intervention Society, and American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.

Dr. Li enjoys spending time with his wife, and two children; He likes jogging, Tai Chi, fitness training, classical music, and exploring national parks.
