My name is Barbara. Several years ago I sustained herniated discs from a car wreck. I wasn’t willing to undergo surgery because it didn’t give me enough promise of improvement. I lived with the pain successfully. I just did self-help—stretches and exercises. The pain was nagging and constant, but not debilitating. It later became stabbing and burning and resulted in numbness down my legs. I also had sciatic nerve pain and was later diagnosed with spinal stenosis.

I wouldn’t let the pain interfere with my life, it just made life unpleasant. Sitting or standing for any period of time became extremely miserable. The pain made me hard to live with and less able to cope with activity and noise.

I heard about Nexus Pain Care from a friend. I’ve been coming consistently for about three years now.

I’ve had radiofrequency treatments and injections. If a treatment doesn’t’ work, the doctors keep looking. They keep trying to solve the problem. When new problems occur, the doctors are right on it.

My pain is now manageable. I am capable of doing the same things much more comfortably. I have a much more comfortable life because of the persistence and the dedication of the doctors at Nexus. I love Dr. Ockey. He takes time to evaluate exactly what I need to do to improve my pain. I feel very comfortable with the medication management at Nexus. The doctors know what I need.

I know that stress causes many physical problems. The stress of pain adds to that. If you don’t get your pain managed, other problems will arise because of the stress caused by the pain.

It is unnecessary to live in pain. I feel very confident that the people at Nexus Pain Care will do everything in their power to solve your problem and make your life more livable.
