My name is Valerie. When I was in junior high, I had knee surgery. I’ve had pain ever since. I have degeneration problems and some nerve damage, as well as facet disease. The pain was very intense. It burned.

I had no life before I came to Nexus Pain Care. I was in bed a lot and spent a lot of time in a recliner. I had several knee surgeries. I didn’t have any interest in outside things.

I heard about Nexus Pain Care through another doctor. I couldn’t take the pain any more and needed to find someone to help me with my pain. This is the first place that really explained to me exactly how pain can affect you. I’ve been a patient here for about three years.

At Nexus Pain Care, I’ve had both knees treated, my lumbar, and sciatic pain. Since I started my treatments at Nexus, I don’t’ have to have surgery every year any more. My pain is now manageable.

The biggest thing is that I can now play with my grandkids. I can exercise now. I am definitely happier.

Pain affects your serotonin levels and can cause depression. Nexus Pain Care explained all this to me. I felt like they understood what I was going through. I finally felt like somebody got it, like I wasn’t crazy. So many doctors had told me there was nothing wrong, but Nexus was able to help me.

To people who have pain, I would say get off your butt and get into Nexus! Everybody is really nice. The staff has extensive knowledge, not just one area of your body. Dr. Rosenthal is so gentle. Dr. Ockey is fabulous. They don’t give up on you. They truly stick with you and want to see your life improve. They want to find the problem and solve it. I just love the doctors.
